So, below is a pretty awesome movie poster. Take a peek.
Today, I looked through pages and pages of movie posters (because what else would I want to do on a Sunday afternoon?) and decided that this one was clearly my favourite. Why? Well:
- it's informative. The poster displays the name of the movie, the name of the stars of the movie, the theatre date of the movie, and more.
- it grabs your attention. The contrast between the light behind Batman and the darkness of Batman himself attracts the eye.
- it looks good. The contrast mentioned above plays a part in this, but the overall design is just nice. As a teenage boy, I can safely say that this is a cool poster.
- it's apparent focus. The light in the centre of the poster, the buildings angled in towards the centre, and the large size of Batman himself all let the viewer come away with the conclusion that, "THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT BATMAN!!!" without even having to think about it.
- it's establishment of theme. When I see this poster, between the multitude of bats, the dark colours that make up the majority of the poster, and the sharp appearance of the images in the poster, I immediately get a feeling that the movie is going to be fairly dark, and edgy. Which it is...
Overall, I think that the poster does a fantastic job of representing the movie, and just looks totally wicked.
